Elliott Davis Employees Remain Committed to Giving Back

Making communities a great place to work, grow and thrive is a priority for Elliott Davis.

Giving back to communities in the firm’s southeastern footprint, including Charlotte, is embedded in company culture and volunteerism is part of the firm’s core value of service to others.

“At Elliott Davis, our mission is simple: We strive to make a positive impact on our people, our clients and our community,” said Richard Battle, Elliott Davis shareholder. “As an organization, we’re committed to community involvement, which we view as not only a pillar of our core values, but a pillar of our success.”

Elliott Davis consistently encourages and challenges employees to take their volunteerism and philanthropic efforts to the next level – whether it be through time, talent or donations.

“Our employees are passionate about giving back and we see the results year over year, with their efforts raising more than $80,000 through our annual Charlotte office United Way campaign,” Battle said.

The firm is so dedicated to serving the community that it holds quarterly volunteer service days in Charlotte to engage employees in giving back to the community throughout the year. Employees collectively volunteer more than 1,000 hours annually with United Way of Central Carolinas’ community partners through projects organized by Hands On Charlotte.

Hands On Charlotte recently helped coordinate community service projects for Elliott Davis employees during the kickoff of the firm’s annual United Way campaign on August 1. Employees helped with facility tasks at the Humane Society of Charlotte, provided general support for activities at Second Harvest Food Bank and held a field day with the youth at Safe Alliance.

On August 3, employees offered their time to decorate onesies and bibs for Baby Bundles. And others got involved on August 8 to assemble 250 snack packs for groups including the Lakewood Neighborhood Alliance, a community supported through United Way’s United Neighborhoods initiative.

The firm wrapped up the first week of its 2018 employee giving campaign by hosting a Hunger Luncheon on August 10 for employees. The interactive simulation educates and creates awareness around poverty and food insecurity in our community.

On August 17, Elliott Davis employees volunteered with projects at area schools during the inaugural Live United Day: All In For The Kids initiative led by Hands On Charlotte, the Charlotte Chamber and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Many Elliott Davis employees hold board seats at organizations including United Way, and are committed to supporting local shelters, pantries, parks, arts, education and environmental initiatives. Several employees also are members of United Way’s four engagement groups and bring year-round awareness and engagement to community issues and United Way efforts.

“By encouraging our employees at Elliott Davis to get involved in the community, we are providing them with increased knowledge of different types of organizations and what all is being provided to people within the community and just how much their help is appreciated,” said Karen Chichester, Elliott Davis office manager.

Thank you to Elliott Davis for continuously giving back and being part of the positive change in our community.
