United Way Salutes its Cabarrus County Champions

On Tuesday, United Way’s Cabarrus County office hosted a Breakfast of Champions for our most passionate corporate partners, donors, and volunteers.

 

“Local champions who exemplify the passion, long-term commitment, generosity, and hands-on involvement necessary to shift ideas to action,” as our Cabarrus community director Sarah Porter summed up.

 

Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast was honored with the overall Top Campaign Award for its strong campaign and for its year-round engagement through volunteerism out in the community.

 

The largest campaigns behind CHS were also honored:

• Alevo
• Cabarrus County
• City of Concord
• Corning
• Publix
• S&D Coffee and Tea

 

Additionally, the companies producing the year’s largest increases were recognized:

• CESI Land Development Services
• Modern Nissan of Concord
• Target
• Uwharrie Bank
• Vulcan

 

Representatives from each company received a medal that was handmade and painted by a Cabarrus County Schools student.

 

Additional award recipients included Bill Dusch, Kristin Rodgers, and Chad Tarlton for their individual support, Alex Griswold for winning the March 4th with United Way fundraising race, Capture the Light Photography and Tarheel Media for donating their services, and Cabarrus Brewing Company‘s Steve Steinbacher for hosting the breakfast, the March 4th race, and other United Way events throughout the year.
