Last Thursday, United Way’s Mooresville/Lake Norman office hosted an appreciation breakfast.
The breakfast was hosted for our most vital corporate partners, donors, and volunteers in the Lake Norman area – the people who are, in campaign chair Eric Livingston’s words, “working hard to help solve our community’s problems, create community connections and partnerships, and be part of something greater than yourself.”
Ingersoll Rand was honored with the overall Community Champion award for its year-round engagement and for raising more than $1.5 million, while Community Partner awards for the top 10 campaigns following Ingersoll Rand in the Mooresville/Lake Norman area were given to:
• BestCo
• BIC USA
• Carolinas HealthCare System
• Griffin Insurance Agency
• GM Financial
• Hershey Foods
• Lowe’s Companies
• Modern Nissan of Lake Norman
• NGK Ceramics USA
• SABIC Innovative Plastics
Each award consisted of one-of-a-kind artwork created by a child served by a local United Way agency.
United Way also honored Mooresville/Lake Norman 2016 board chair Howard Peabody of Shelco and 2016 campaign chair Eric Livingston of EY for their leadership, along with 2016 Community Investment chair Theresa Thompson and Community Investment Council chairs Susan Johnson, Phil Carey, and Kim Sellers. The event was sponsored by MSC Industrial Supply Co.
