Regions Bank is committed to the success of the communities in which it serves, from the company’s commitment to helping improve economic mobility to employees’ year-round engagement through volunteerism.

The company’s three pillars of community investment – economic and community development, education and workforce readiness and financial wellness – support United Way’s vision of a community where everyone can achieve their full potential.

Regions has a deep history of demonstrating its support of United Way organizations across the bank’s 15-state footprint through the donation of significant volunteer time by bank associates and by providing financial investments for programming initiatives. Engaging with local agencies offers team members the opportunity to lend a hand in addressing specific needs in the cities and towns they call home.

“United Way’s commitment to supporting essential needs, education, financial stability and health aligns with Regions’ approach to community investments,” said Terry Katon, Regions Bank’s Charlotte market executive. “This growing collaboration empowers us to make a meaningful impact in supporting our neighbors throughout the Charlotte area as we fulfill our mission to make life better in the communities we serve.”

At Regions Bank, the spirit of volunteerism is deeply ingrained in company culture. Its mission to make life better and do more for the communities it serves is put into action through “What a Difference a Day Makes.” The initiative allows associates to take a day off each year to volunteer with an organization of their choice.

In 2018, the company’s Charlotte office logged 518 volunteer hours with local organizations, including United Way partner agencies that provide education, health and/or financial stability services in the community. Several of Regions Bank’s senior leaders serve on the boards of these agencies.

In recognition of its spirit of giving and volunteering in the community, Regions Bank was honored with a Spirit of North Carolina Award on February 13, 2019 in Pinehurst during an awards luncheon presented by United Way of North Carolina.

“Regions is honored to be recognized with a Spirit of North Carolina Award,” Katon said. “We look forward to building on our collaboration with United Way in the future.”
