Charlotte-based UTC Aerospace Systems, one of the world’s largest suppliers of advanced aerospace products, is among United Way’s top local donors in the manufacturing industry.
The generosity of their corporate gift is a key reason why.
UTC Aerospace Systems takes one of the more strategic approaches to their corporate giving of any of our company partners: to encourage new donors and higher levels of generosity, they’ll match to dollar-for-dollar in key ways that nurture employee philanthropy:
- 100% match for new donors
- 100% match for new leadership donors ($1,000 and up)
- 100% match for new Alexis de Tocqueville donors ($10,000 and up)
- Additional matching to help donors reach the next leadership tier, such as the Directors Circle ($15,000), for those increasing their pledge by at least 20%
“Working in advanced technologies, we’re constantly pushing ourselves to solve some of the aerospace industries biggest challenges,” said Cynthia Forbes in UTC Aerospace Systems strategic communications, who once served as a loaned executive on United Way’s fundraising team. “We know United Way takes the same mindset in solving Charlotte’s biggest problems, so our match encourages employees to stretch to meet the community’s needs.”
UTC Aerospace Systems is also heavily involved in local volunteerism, from a company-wide Day of Caring to participating in Charlotte’s annual playground build organized by Hands On Charlotte.
Together, the corporate giving and volunteerism complement each other in a manner that truly makes a difference for the Charlotte region.
