Reflecting, Aligning, and Moving Forward: United Way of Greater Charlotte Hosts Strategic Planning Retreat
Last Friday, United Way of Greater Charlotte brought together members of its Strategic Planning Implementation Committee for its longest and most focused convening to date, creating space for deeper reflection, alignment, and conversation around the organization’s future direction.
The retreat brought together a cross-sector group of board members, community representatives, and executive leadership, all committed to helping guide how United Way continues evolving to meet the changing needs of the Greater Charlotte community.
Throughout the day, participants reflected on the organization’s strategic priorities, discussed implementation progress, and explored opportunities to strengthen impact across the region. Conversations centered on how United Way can continue advancing economic mobility, supporting neighborhood-based solutions, and responding to the realities facing local families and communities.
What made the retreat especially meaningful was the diversity of perspectives represented in the room. The combination of leadership experience, community insight, and collaborative problem-solving created thoughtful dialogue grounded in both strategy and lived experience.
As United Way of Greater Charlotte continues building pathways to opportunity, gatherings like this play an important role in ensuring the organization remains responsive, accountable, and community centered. The retreat reinforced the value of collaboration and shared leadership in shaping long-term impact.
We are grateful to every committee member who contributed their time, expertise, and perspective throughout the day. Their continued partnership helps strengthen our collective ability to create meaningful and lasting change across the region.
The conversations and insights shared during the retreat will continue helping guide our path forward as we work toward a stronger, more equitable Greater Charlotte for all.
