30th Annual Union Day of Caring
United Way of Greater Charlotte serves Union County residents through supporting housing stability, food security, access to health care, childhood literacy and mentoring programs with a special focus on supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In addition to supporting our resident-led impact strategy, we host an annual Day of Caring in Union County.
This past weekend, 402 volunteers showed up for senior citizens and nonprofit organizations in the area to complete 53 outdoor projects. Groups from Atrium Health, Wingate University Athletics, Union Academy and many others came together to cut grass, weed flowerbeds, prune shrubs, remove trash, wash windows, clean gutters and help with painting.
Thank you to all of the volunteers for dedicating your Saturday morning to lending a helping hand to our Union County neighbors. Our Annual Day of Caring isn’t just about the physical transformation that takes place at a home; it is about the impact we have when we are united for the greater good.
