United Way Thanks Mooresville/Lake Norman Community for Successful Campaign

Continuing an annual tradition, United Way of Central Carolinas honored its top Mooresville/Lake Norman campaigns with an appreciation breakfast today.

Volunteers, partner agencies and board members were recognized at the event, which was held at On the Nines and was sponsored by Mooresville Ford and Polymershapes. Campaign Chair Eric Livingston received a special honor. Livingston has served as campaign chair since 2015, and in 2017 added the role of board chair for Mooresville / Lake Norman.

Former Mooresville town manager and United Way board member for Mooresville / Lake Norman, Erskine Smith, recognized top contributors for the 2017 campaign including:

    • Atrium Health

    • BestCo

    • GM Financial

    • Lowes Companies

    • Modern Nissan of Lake Norman

    • Nationwide-Griffin Insurance

    • NGK Ceramics

    • Publix

    • QuikTrip

  • SABIC Innovative Plastics

Ingersoll Rand received a Campaign Champion Award. In addition to raising over $1.4 million, the company held numerous fundraising events like their “Spooktacular” family fun day and a golf tournament. Recognizing the importance of volunteering, Ingersoll Rand had over 400 volunteers serve at 40 projects during their campaign. The company also has a dedicated group of employees acting as reading mentors as part of United Way’s Tutor Charlotte program. The employees read with Cornelius Elementary School kindergarten students each week.

“The needs of our community continue to grow,” said Keri Taylor, community director of United Way’s Mooresville Lake Norman office. “Now more than ever, we see the need to continue building a strong United Way to create opportunities for all.”

United Way’s annual community investment will be announced in June.
