United Way of Greater Charlotte’s regional work focuses on issues identified by community members across its four-county footprint.
Through collaborative efforts in Anson, Cabarrus and Union Counties, United Way has tailored impact strategies for each region, focusing on needs such as economic mobility, mental wellness and access to quality healthcare and education.

Anson County Homes of Hope | To provide housing based on each case’s needs, and to empower our program participants with the life skills necessary to be successful and live as productive members of society.
Anson County Partnership for Children | To help make Anson County a better place to be a child and to raise a child.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas | To create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Ultimately, bridging the gap for opportunity for all youth to achieve their full potential.
Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County | To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center, Inc. | Provides access to superior speech-language and hearing services that empower and transform lives.
Child Care Resources, Inc. | To work with families, early educators, and communities to ensure that all children from birth through age 12 have access to high quality, affordable early care & education (ECE) and school age child care experiences and opportunities that will enable them to succeed in school & in life.
Community Health Services of Union County | To improve lives throughout Union and Anson Counties by providing healthcare access to our uninsured adult population.
Council on Aging in Union County | To provide support to people 60 and over in their efforts to remain healthy, active, and in control of their own lives.
El Puente Hispano | To connect and integrate the Hispanic community with resources to foster self-sufficiency and productivity. Our goal is to develop programs that promote equity and help strengthen Latino families in Cabarrus County and to serve as a bridge between local agencies and organizations and the Latino community to promote inclusion and diversity.
Feed My Lambs, Inc. | To provide assistance to those experiencing homelessness in our community through food and clothing donations.
Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council | To build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place and provide an opportunity for every girl to maximize her potential and become a leader in her own life.
HealthQuest of Union County | To improve the health of our community by assisting those who cannot afford prescription medications.
Mental Health America of Central Carolinas | To provide help, offer hope and promote mental wellness through advocacy, education and prevention in Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Counties.
Salvation Army – Charlotte Area Command | To meet human needs by offering hope, promoting dignity, and providing opportunity.
The S.T.U.D.I.O. | To provide various services to educate, enhance, inspire, and build a brighter future for our community.
Turning Point, Inc. | To end domestic abuse, sexual assault, and child abuse through safe shelter, advocacy, prevention and social change.
Union County Community Shelter | To provide food, emergency shelter and instruction to those individuals and families in need within our community. We promote a pathway to self-sufficiency that includes income stabilization and permanent housing.
Union County Crisis Assistance Ministry | To provide a bridge from crisis to stability for individuals in our community who are at risk of losing their most basic needs of shelter and food during a personal or family crisis.
Union Diversified Industries, Inc. | To enhance the quality of life of individuals with Developmental Disabilities by providing habilitation services, enrichment services and vocational training/work experience opportunities in a culturally sensitive environment.
Union-Anson Habitat for Humanity, Inc. | To provide safe, affordable homeownership to people of limited resources who demonstrate a commitment to Habitat’s philosophy of homeownership. We accomplish this by building partnerships between communities of support and communities of need.
YWCA Central Carolinas | Aims to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace,
justice, freedom and dignity for all.
