Meet Our 2023 Regional Investment Partners

United Way of Greater Charlotte has realigned its regional work to focus on issues identified by community members across its four-county footprint. 

Through collaborative efforts in Anson, Cabarrus and Union Counties, United Way has launched impact strategies tailored to the regions it serves. Focusing on needs such as economic mobility, mental wellness, access to quality healthcare and access to quality education will positively impact residents’ lives as well as create and sustain a better future for all.

Anson County Homes of Hope |  Offers transitional/bridge, emergency, rapid re-housing, and an affordable housing program that operates solely to meet the needs of Anson County residents.

Anson County Partnership for Children | Helps make Anson County a better place to be a child and to raise a child.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas | Creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center, Inc.* |  Provides access to superior speech-language and hearing services that empower and transform lives.

Child Care Resources Inc. | Works with families, early educators, and communities to ensure that all children have access to high quality, affordable early care & education (ECE) and school age child care experiences and opportunities that will enable them to succeed in school & in life. 

Community Health Services of Union County, Inc. | Improves lives throughout Union and Anson Counties by providing healthcare access to our uninsured adult population.

Council on Aging in Union County | Provides support to people 60 and over in their efforts to remain healthy, active, and in control of their own lives. 

El Puente Hispano | Connects and integrates the Hispanic community with resources to foster self-sufficiency and productivity. 

Feed My Lambs, Inc. | Provides assistance to the needy and homeless of our community through a food and clothing ministry.

Firm Foundations Youth and Family Outreach | Educates, exposes and empowers adolescents and families to become self-sufficient and confident of succeeding in society by providing youth development programs and mentoring services. 

Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council* | Builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place and provides an opportunity for every girl to maximize her potential and become a leader in her own life. 

HealthQuest of Union County, Inc. | Improves the health of our community by assisting those who cannot afford prescription medications.

HOLLA! Community Development Corporation | Enhances the conditions of the community through providing resources and encourages community involvement in the educational process.

Legal Aid of North Carolina, Inc.* | Provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justice and to remove legal barriers to economic opportunity.

Mental Health America of Central Carolinas | Provides help, offers hope and promotes mental wellness through advocacy, education and prevention.

New Covenant Community Development Center | Strengthens the academic skills of participating students and to encourage them to pursue postsecondary degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) careers.

Salvation Army – Charlotte Area Command | Meets human needs by offering hope, promoting dignity, and providing opportunity.

The Arc of Union/Cabarrus, Inc. | Provides for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work and play.

The Caraway Foundation | Provides resources that benefit students with educational needs and supports those who have experienced and are currently going through a chronic illness by providing health related resources.

The S.T.U.D.I.O. | Provides various services to educate, enhance, inspire, and build a brighter future for our community.

Turning Point, Inc. | Exists to end domestic abuse, sexual assault, and child abuse through safe shelter, advocacy, prevention and social change.

Union County Community Shelter (DBA: Community Shelter of Union County) | Provides food, emergency shelter and instruction to those individuals and families in need within our community. 

Union County Crisis Assistance Ministry | Provides a bridge from crisis to stability for individuals in our community who are at risk of losing their most basic needs of shelter and food during a personal or family crisis.

Union Diversified Industries, Inc. | Enhances the quality of life of individuals with Developmental Disabilities by providing habilitation services, enrichment services and vocational training/work experience opportunities in a culturally sensitive environment.

Union-Anson Habitat for Humanity, Inc. | Provides safe, affordable homeownership to people of limited resources who demonstrate a commitment to Habitat’s philosophy of homeownership. 

YWCA Central Carolinas* | Aims to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
